Rough week...

Well, not long after Grandpa and Grandma Staub left last weekend things went down the tubes. Meredith cried for three hours straight and wouldn't go to sleep. We then found out that she had quite the fever and just wasn't getting better. A slight cough started so we took her to the doctor. The doctor said that she had an ear infection in her right ear. Solution: Give Tylenol and Motrin alternating every three hours. So mommy and daddy set a schedule and it seemed to work like a charm. The fever broke - or so we thought - and it looked as though she was getting better and so we took her to Jesse's on Thurs. morning. Jesse called later and said that Meredith's eardrum burst - her left one - and there was puss coming out of it. So Kelli took her to the doctor and got drops and antibiotics to clear the whole thing up. You would think things got better....but no.

Meredith took the drops ok, so her ears aren't bothering her as much. However, the cough is getting worse. So bad in fact, that when we tried to give her the antibiotics orally she throws them up. Back to the doctor again. More potent antibiotics at a smaller dose and baby can keep them down! Finally, she is acting more like her normal happy self.

I kept reminding myself of 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 where it says "My [God's] power is made perfect in weakness...For when I am weak then I am strong." I have a feeling now that Meredith is sleeping better I will be a strong sleeper! (I realize I took that verse a little different way, but God did get us through this week. Ah the joys of parenting.) Mommy and daddy need some sleep!

Meredith was so clingy and fussy all week she would crawl right into your lap and sleep on you. Sadly, we couldn't return the favor. I guess she'll have to wait about 50 years....

I wish I could be there to help ... Mommy & Daddy could take a good nap. I'm praying that Meredith is now feeling better and this medication works.

Meredith - I cant believe you're 9 months. Looking through your pictures I see such changes - neck, no neck and now I see a neck again. Your smile is absolutely adorable.

I'll keep all of you in my prayers and good night!

Meema & Papa pray that you will start feeling better soon. You're looking like a big girl now in the pictures. Growing up way too fast. Soon to be 10 months old. WOW!!
