Mer’s first snowman!

We had a warm day here today. (For those of you in warm climates, that means it was above freezing.) Since the snow was good for packing we made a snowman!

She’s a movin’!

The funny thing about having a baby that crawls at an early age is you always have to be watching what they are getting into.  With Meredith we could just lay her down and not worry because she couldn't move.  With Gabrielle she will follow you.  This girl is fast.  The proof (and a cute pic) is below.

Gabrielle is crawling…

So Gabrielle is full out crawling earlier than Meredith learned to roll over.  That means that Mommy and I have to be on our toes because she gets into everything.  This video was taken last night – it is not her crawling but you will see what I mean.  She got in this position all by herself.

Sisters

There is something about sisters that I will never understand.  Apparently, there is a bond already between these two as you can see.  Gabrielle always lights up when Meredith walks in the room and come close to her.  Meredith is such a good big sister.100_2519  100_2513

Bath time!

Both the girls love their baths. Now they love them even more that they can do it together!  There is a lot of splashing and even more smiles!

Go Colts!

Meredith went trick-or-treating today! This year she walked around our Packer-filled neighborhood and attempted to give the knuckleheads here a real team to cheer for. As you can see, she is the cutest Colts cheerleader of them all!

Which is which?

People tell us all the time that our girls look the same.  Here is the real test…

My Girls…

Here are a couple of pictures of my girls.  They were both taken after church, just a week apart.  As you can see, mommy cut Meredith’s hair.  I didn’t like it at first but now I am used to it.

My Girls are Going to State!

Yesterday, both my guys and girls Cross Country teams competed in our Sectional race to determine who goes to the State Championship meet next weekend. My girls, to the shock of all of us, won the Sectional Title!

Last weekend at the Conference Meet our girls took third in a field where the top 4 teams were only separated by 17 points. Yesterday, they took first in a field where the same top 4 teams were only separated by 9 points!

What a fun day! Here is a picture of me and my “other girls”.

Mommy had a surprise for me when I got home too!

Gabrielle Sits…

Gabrielle sits up! (sort of) She can sit assisted a little. Then, today, Kelli put her on the bed and she sat up pretty well, as you can see.

She sure is a happy baby!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

It has been a long time since we entered anything in the blog.  Sorry to those who always look for updates.  I hope you haven’t given up on us.  Our home computer died this summer and we finally have one here again.  Making new posts should be much easier.

Daddy’s birthday was Thursday.  He is old. Here is a picture of the birthday boy with his girls.  We love you Daddy!

Pretty Girls

Meredith got to wear a new dress the other day to church. She was just about the cutest thing we have ever seen...until you put Gabrielle with her too. I am fortunate to live in a house with 3 beautiful ladies!

Great-Grandparents

Gabrielle met her great grandpa and grandma while in SD. Uncle Michael was in Nebraska vising G & G Morlok and came up to Vermillion for lunch one day. They both loved to see Meredith and meet Gabrielle. Wish we could see you more often! Love you both!

Cousins

Meredith and Grace love playing with each other in SD. I am not sure which one is the bigger cheese, but they both love having their pictures taken!

Big Girl Bed!

When "Uncle Tim" got married and moved out of his apt he gave us this bed. In SD, Meredith was sleeping in a "big girl bed" and daddy found out. So, before he left to go to SD, daddy put up Meredith's big girl bed in her room. She loves it!

Hair!

Gimme a head with hair,
Long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming,
Streaming, flaxen, waxen

Give me down to there hair
Shoulder length or longer
Here baby, there mama
Everywhere daddy daddy

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair

Let it fly in the breeze
And get caught in the trees
Give a home to the fleas in my hair
A home for fleas
A hive for bees
A nest for birds
There ain't no words
For the beauty, the splendor, the wonder
Of my...

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair

I want it long, straight, curly, fuzzy
Snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty
Oily, greasy, fleecy
Shining, gleaming, streaming
Flaxen, waxen
Knotted, polka-dotted
Twisted, beaded, braided
Powdered, flowered, and confettied
Bangled, tangled, spangled, and spaghettied!

Oh say can you see
My eyes if you can
Then my hair's too short

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair

Breakfast on the Farm

June is National Dairy month and all over Wisconsin local farms in each county celebrate by having what they call "Breakfast on the Farm". It is really an all you an eat pancake breakfast with things like petting zoos, pedal tractor pulls, polka bands, balloons barn tours, antique tractors, etc. Our neighbor Jessie told us about it and Meredith and I went this morning. We had lots of fun! Here are some pictures of what Meredith saw:

Choo! Choo!

There is a man in our housing addition that loves trains so much he built a huge track in his back yard. His track is 1500 feet long and complete with two tunnels and a section that goes over a creek! Twice a summer he lets people come over and ride them for free! This was a part of Mara's (our neighbor girl) birthday party. Meredith had a great time on the trains!

Thumbsucker...

Well, Gabrielle will not take a buddy but she has found her thumb. As you can see, she loves it!

Where are the girls?

There they are! Meredith was "hiding" with Gabrielle in our bed one day.

Here are some other pictures of the girls as well:
