Baby Shower

Last Wednesday, my sister Jill hosted a baby shower for Meredith and I. There were about 35-40 people in attendance and we received lots of wonderful gifts! Thanks to anyone who was able to be there; I'm glad you got to meet my new daughter!

Baseball game

For Father's Day, we took my Dad and Grandpa (and Mom, Jon, and Ryan) to Miller Park to watch the Brewers play the Minnesota Twins. We went early and tailgated. The evening game we went to proved victorious for the Twins, but Brewers won the Sunday game that Dad and I went to. Notice in the picture below how close Dad and I sat!

WE'RE BACK!!!!!!

It seems as though June 5 was our last day of normalcy. Since then our little family has been to Indiana, hosted some Gehrels folk here in Wisconsin, as well as spent time in South Dakota and Nebraska. Little Meredith has already been in 7 states during her mere 2 months of life thus far! Also during the last 10 days, she has met all 6 of her great-grandparents. How do her Mommy and Daddy feel about it? They want to stay home for a very long time. Aaron and I took lots of pictures of our recent adventures and will try to post them regularly this week. Stay tuned for more!

Meredith with her Great-Grandpa Wilbur. He traveled from South Dakota to Wisconsin to see her! (well, to see her and the Minnesota Twins:)

Meredith with her Great-Grandma Ella in South Dakota! Yay--Grandma Ella got her haircut the next day! She also got to be at the baby shower with us.
Meredith with her Great-Grandpa Herb in Nebraska. Meredith and Herb are almost 90 years apart!
Meredith with Great-Grandma Lorene. They smiled lots at each other!

Road Trip!

Kelli, Meredith and I decided to go to Indiana this past weekend to visit Grandpa and Grandma Staub and Uncle Jer. We were going to put Meredith on the doorstep and ring the doorbell and run, but since we got stuck in Chicago for a couple of hours in traffic, we had to call ahead as we weren't going to get there until 11:15 pm! Grandpa and Grandma were still excited to see Meredith as they hadn't seen her since the baptism. Here are some pictures of the weekend. Enjoy!

Meredith is very excited that we got her up to spend the day in her car seat.

After a rough day in the car seat, she didn't want to wake up for breakfast.

She started to smile and we (and Uncle Jer and G & G Staub) are loving it!

Uncle Jer is excited that Meredith is a Cubs fan!

Grandma just likes to hold her!

Back home again (sort of) in Indiana...

The Staub clan.

I don't know who enjoyed this smile contest more. Meredith just hands them out to Grandma.

Thanks for a great trip!

Summer is here!

Sorry it has been so long since we have updated the blog, but we have been so busy with everything. Not true! We are officially into summer vacation and have not done much since it started. Today Kelli and I decided that we needed to get back into a routine as the past couple days we have been catching up on sleep. The day we decided to get back in a routine it rains all day. Oh well, at least we get to update the blog. Things have been going great on the baby front. Meredith is a beautiful little girl and just spoils mommy and daddy. Last night she slept from 9:30 to 7:00 and only woke up once! Earlier this week, Kelli and I had meetings at school so we had to get a babysitter for Meredith. Two days with two different babysitters and Meredith was great for both of them. How nice to know that if we want a night away we have great babysitters and a daughter that is nice to them too! However, I don't think mom and dad are ready for that as we rushed home after the meetings to see our little girl!

She has started to smile but I don't have any pictures of it. However, here are some other recent photos. Enjoy!

Josh and Angie (friends from college) came up to visit last Sunday. They brought their two children Lille (above, 2 yrs) and Andrew (below, 3 mos).

Meredith used to scream during baths. As you can see, she loves them now - except when mommy washes her hair. Then she doesn't look nearly as cute.

Here Meredith is wearing my second favorite outfit. (My favorite is the Cubs onesie that she wore to some graduation parties. However she pooped through it. It was a fiasco that you will have to ask Kelli about.)

Meredith and I love to watch each other.

This is our favorite time of day. We love watching baseball together.
