Stay tuned...
I have more pictures of Grandma and Grandpa's 50th celebration. I'll post more another day.
The After-Party at the Moonlite
A Celebration - Grandma and Grandpa's 50th!
January 10, 2009 marked Grandpa Wilbur and Grandma Ella's 50th Wedding Anniversary! We traveled to South Dakota again last weekend to take part in the festivities. Sunday we had an open house at the nursing home. Afterwards, the family had a nice supper party in a room at the Moonlite, "Grandma and Grandpa's restaurant".
The whole gang. Who knew that having just two sons would produce such a large family?!?!
At ages 83 and 85, still a good-looking couple!
Serving or snacking, Jerry and Aaron?

I snapped this shot before the open house even started; in all, we had 86 guests visit to congratulate Grandma and Grandpa. Late last Sunday evening, I went through the greeting cards that they received--well over 50 or 60 of them!

Princess
There are so many pictures that we've taken over the last two months that we haven't shared yet. Here are some of my favorites. I think that most of them also show how much our "Princess" has grown.
"Smiley" is usually always in a great mood. You can also see that she has two bottom teeth.
She can pull herself up on her toy basket!
She is slimming down a bit. Her thighs are still pretty thick. Aaron just bought her a Valentine's outfit the other day... had to be size 24-month in order to ensure it will fit her come February 14th.
This was the scene in our bedroom at my parent's house on Christmas evening. Meredith had a fever that day that wouldn't go away. Fortunately, she was in a great mood regardless and she loved the attention she was getting laying in Mommy and Daddy's bed.
Mara, our neighbor, is shown here holding Meredith. Mara spoils her and gives her tons of attention.

Go Uncle Jon!
Last Saturday, while in South Dakota, we got to see Uncle Jonny and the Raiders win their 3rd basketball game. Currently they are 4-0!

Here's Meredith and Gracie in their matching Raiders outfits cheering for Uncle Jon. The sleeves of their shirts even say "#23" and "GEHRELS".
Grace is a veteran b-ball fan and this was Meredith's first basketball game.
Jon was close to getting the MVP of the game award. He had 15 points, 7 rebounds, and a couple of steals. He is an awesome player. (Learned everything he knows from me.)
Here's Papa and Kadyn watching Jon at the game. Kadyn was sick earlier that morning but was feeling well enough to eat a lot from the concession stand at the game, including a giant pickle that I had fun watching him try to eat. That's my Uncle Tom with his back to us. Jon had 24 family members at that particular game cheering him on. (Abby, Brad, and Ethan count as ORR fans that day, right?)
After the game, Aaron and Scott clothed their little girls up in their "Oompa" suits to head back outside into the South Dakota wind and cold.

Merry Christmas!
Yeah, yeah, I know it's been too long since we've posted. The Staubs have been busy! Here's some Christmas pics.
Meredith's absolute favorite thing to do now is to ride on her Daddy's shoulders. She smiles and laughs the whole time, except for when she's busy sucking and pulling on his hair.
Here she is opening her very first present on Christmas morning! Of course, she loved the paper more than any of her gifts.
Here we are after church on Christmas Eve and Aunt Jill at Uncle Scott's new house. Within a couple of hours after taking this picture, both Aaron and Meredith become sick. :(
Here's a pic we took in front of our own tree when we got back from taking family pics in early December.
