Hi Papa!

4 months

We took Meredith to her 4-month doctors appointment two weeks ago. More shots. More weight. More length. The shots went a little better this time. Meredith weighs over 19 pounds and is 27 inches long. Once again, this means that she is off the charts. Our friends in Illinois have a daughter who just turned one. Madalyn is 21 pounds and 27 inches long. No wonder I had to buy 12 month clothing for Meredith yesterday. And I even have to take some back because I brought it home and laid it next to her and two of the outfits are too small! It is so sad that she has skipped nearly 10 to 20 outfits in her closet. She'll never get to wear them because she simply just skipped the 3-6 month and 6-9 month clothing range. Luckily I found an awesome children's consignment shop where I can buy nice clothes inexpensively. We also have to invest in a new car seat because she is now too big for the infant one. Oh well, big and healthy is better than the alternative.

Daddy's little girl

Meredith's Mornings...

One of the best things I have ever experienced in my entire life has been waking up to a happy baby girl every morning. Unfortunately, I have to be at school around 7:10am everyday so we wake our happy little girl up around 6:30am and feed her and dress her then take her across the street to Jessie's house. Jessie is our neighbor who has two little boys of her own. Jessie decided this past spring to stay home with her sons as well as babysit Meredith and another little boy. Meredith is only at Jessie's for four hours every morning, but during that four hours she is very busy! Meredith plays with Collin, who is a couple of weeks older than her. Meredith does artwork. She talks, has tummy time, watches the boys play outside, makes breakfast with Jessie, reads books, does the Itsy Bitsy Spider, swings, plays in an activity center, naps, rocks with Jessie, and then usually poops through her outfit.

Below are some pictures of Meredith's artwork that she and Jessie have made for Mommy and Daddy. Most of it involves Meredith's footprints and handprints. There's also a picture of Dylan (Jessie's oldest) holding Meredith. Apparently the boys adore her and fight over her. When I show up, they usually don't want her to go home and they all kiss her cheeks. It is adorable. We are so blessed to have such an awesome babysitter right across the street!

Labor Day weekend

The Staub family spent the entire Labor Day weekend at home relaxing, eating good food, cleaning, and working on a few projects. Specifically, Aaron worked on making the bathroom cupboards look a lot better. Pictured below are some before/after shots. He did such a good job that he has to do the same thing to all the kitchen cupboards!

School Started...

Aaron and I started teaching again as school resumed on August 21st. This year I am teaching part-time. I GET TO COME HOME AT 11:00am AND SPEND THE REST OF THE DAY WITH MEREDITH! I am teaching Physics, Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology and Genetics. Aaron is teaching Old Testament, Religion & Literature, Band, A Capella Choir, World Religions and Chorale. He's also busy coaching cross country right now. Above is a picture of some of my students, the Anatomy class. They are all juniors or seniors that I have taught Chemsitry to in the past. Anatomy is my favorite things to teach because of my love for the human body. I think I am teaching a total of about 85 students this year, including four foreign exchange students.
